Abstract:
Criminal law intervenes as a last resort to protect social values. Although standards may differ from one society to another, there are also many common benchmarks. Thus, at the global level, states must cooperate to protect both the natural and anthropogenic environment, which is essential for ensuring the life and health of humans and other living beings, but also for maintaining public and personal security. There is a trend at European level to strengthen the legal framework by updating the normative acts in the above-mentioned field.
